Experience the vibrant mix of history, culture, and flavor that defines Georgetown. Begin at the colorful I • Guyana sign before cruising down High Street, passing the historic Red House and elegant Austin House.

Marvel at the soaring St. George’s Cathedral, one of the tallest wooden churches in the world, and explore the intriguing exhibits of the National Museum. Continue past the stately High Court, charming St. Andrew’s Kirk, and the bustling Stabroek Market with its iconic clock tower. Drive along Brickdam Street to view the Parliament Building, ending this leg at the symbolic 1763 Monument.

Enjoy the lush surroundings of the Botanical Gardens and zoo before heading to Shanta’s Puri Shop for Indian street food favorites— soft dhal puri, golden egg ball, crispy pholourie, and spiced channa with tangy mango sour. Refresh with coconut water or sugarcane juice at Bourda Market, then stroll through stalls brimming with tropical produce and spices.

Discover Guyana’s indigenous heritage at the Walter Roth Museum, then visit the National Park to meet its gentle manatees. Conclude your journey at Hot and Spicy Restaurant with African inspired dishes such as savory cook-up rice, perfectly fried fish, and rich pepperpot with bread.

Along the way, you’ll also pass other notable sites that reveal Georgetown’s colonial charm, religious diversity, and architectural beauty.

This isn’t just a tour-it’s a feast for the senses and a celebration of Guyana’s multicultural spirit. The experience is fully customizable to suit your interests, ensuring every guest enjoys their own perfect taste of Georgetown.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
